Erasure - Avelon, Los Angeles 5/13 [14 May 2005|11:11pm]
Great concert, I was a bit bummed they didnt play any songs from I sayx3, Erasure, Cowboy, Loveboat or Other People's Song.

Set list was pretty much pop + nightbird. Great performance by Andy and Vince looked cool.

Seems like the production of their stage show is getting smaller and smaller. Pretty much some aluminum foil covering a platform and Vince's keyboard rack. I hope they do at least one more big tour in their career.

They are doing around 4 or more dates per big U.S. city. It seems like they can consolodate those dates into one bigger venue.

Monday was weigh in Day. Since having the little cutie, I have slowly crept back up to 180LBS. Since I needed some motivation I bet 4 people at work I could lose 15lbs in 30 days...suckers. The bet is for 10bucks each. If I win I get $40. If I loose I pay out $10 each...but I won't loose.

Planning on a week trip in June. Drive up the coast and stop at places like Carmel, Big Sur, Solvang, Frisco and this beautiful place. Hope Maddy doesn't get fussy in the car.

I've recently gotten back to doing music. Here is a little something I wrote to help maddy fall asleep.

2 week ago I was involved in a bad accident. I was cruising in the slow lane. No traffic and I wasn't breaking. Huge truck just rammed into me. I am very lucky. I walked away with a small gash to the head that required 1 staple. The though of what would have happened if somone was in the back back seat is just terrifying. The guy who was driving a company  truck admmited fault. My BMW...may it rest in piece. I loved that car.

Car 1
Car 2

I still need to deal with stuff like insurance..ect. I was able to get some money upfront for my car thru my insurance. Since I loved ebay so much, I bought the replacement car thru them! Thats right...BUY IT NOW! I am so excited about it, it is being delivered next week. I had to do some convincing to get it. Rosalie asked why I wanted a "Look at me" car. My reasoning:

#1 It only a little more than the brand new car I bought her!
#2 It's more than a look at me car....260HP...ALL WHEELDRIVE.
#3 It's German
#4 It's beautiful!

Camping a few week back was really cool. I'll post pictures next update. Going again in 2 weeks. Since the accident I have not been able to ride the bike. My back rear tire was in the trunk. So I've slowly fell out of shape and also had to fork out more money on ebay to buy rreplacment wheels.

Work is going good. I need to talk to Pete about getting more money. I took a 20k Pay cut to work there...business is going well and I'm not seeing anymore money :/

We finished the graphics and interior of the new Third Place Cafe on the new Crossroads campus. Turned out great.

Been a while since I posted. What's new with me?

Planing a overnight camping trip on friday. Hike up, pitch a tent in the middle of no where and head back down saturday. Roland makes a little music PDA with some GM sound and a 4 track sequencer, tempted to get just for times like this. But then again probably be another toy I don't use.

Been meaning to sit down and work on some music stuff but been so lazy, at least I have been good about not buying more junk on ebay.

Music: I've been listening to everything from the new Ian Mccolluch to the Chemical Brothers. Bought 2 more Bjork cd's. Mostly been listening to Jellyfish...such a talented bunch of people.

TV: Been watching the food channel a lot. Current favorite show is Unrwapped.

PlainJoe Studios: Work has been laid back last few days, probably because I'm working more on webstuff than print. Print is fun, but you have to worry about to many things like bleeds, overprinting, trapping, etc. Too much money is involved if the printer jacks things up.

Movie: Lost in La Manch, this was a documentary about Terry Gilliam's fail attemped as bringing Don Quiote to the bring screen. Was kind of sad seeing this fail.

Gaming: Playing Zelda on the gameboy. Started playing UO again to pass some time. There is less of an agenda than EQ, but its so damn crowded and I can't seem to find any space to put a house. Haven't touched the x-box...another toy I don't use. I did however buy a good basketball hoop and contructed it in 100 degree heat. Maybe some of the neighborhood kids will see me and want to play and then I can block a shot and wave my finger in their face and say "Not in my house!"

Very hot today. Spent more money on music gear. Sometimes ebay is a real bummer. People just do not think when they package things. I received the $200 sampler I ordered today and because of improper packaging the unit was damaged. Still operational but I'll probalby have to spend couple hundred more to get it working 100%.

At least im up to 63 feedbacks!

Here it is, my enya inspired song. Only 2 minute as it was for a 2 minute video and I only had a couple days to work on it. Edya.mp3

My new phrase: Here's your poo mate (Croc Hunter movie)

I'm still watching Animal Precinct. I wonder why more cities do not have animal law enforcment. Some people are just so cruel (well stupid).

1 a.m. surfing around and ran into some Frou Frou videos. Their cd is easily one of the best CD's of the year.

Saw "Good Girl" with Jennifer Anniston. Wasn't as good as I expected. Jennifer Anniston really doesn't pick the best movies to be in. I have yet to see Bruce Almighty, but im sure Jim "carries" her in that one.

Spent about $400 today on ebay...more music stuff! Pair of studio monitors, USB audio interface (for the laptop) and a Roland Dance module.

Spent the morning composing a song for a 2 minute video we did earlier this year. Initially the song we used in it was an Enya song. I pretty much just patterned it after that song, trying not to make it sound too much like it. Harder doing Enya type music since its more arranging doing "pop" type verse, chorus song.

Once I get my USB audio interface I'll have to post it up.

Free users don't have the options to customize their LiveJournals. So I guess I'll make due for now.

No bike ride for me tomorrow. Got a flat yesterday...went to fix it and pinched the only extra tube I had. After pumping the tire up it exploded :/

Think I got ripped on ebay, looks like the person is not going to send the CD I ordered: Ian McCulloch "Sliding". I went ahead and ordered it again.

Work has been really busy, finally got out the Stadia booth banners to the printers. Next project is the Miguel's newsletter...hmm bean and cheese burrito. They have decided on the name Miguel's California Mexican Cuisina for their new Orange County sit-down resturant. I am really opposed to using California in the name..but oh well.

Only the tongue can tell [23 Jun 2003|02:38pm]

Couple days ago in the wee hours of the morning, I felt the need to buy something on ebay. The only thing I could think of is a tongue ring to replace the one I swallowed over 2 years ago. It came in todays mail and I put it in. Pretty amazing that there is still a hole in my tongue after 2 years. Somone told me that the tongue heals faster than any part of the body. I wonder if my ears are still peirced....not that I can ever see my self wearing earings anymore.

Steve Irwin > Jeff Corwin
Anyone who tells you Jeff Corwin is better or more knowledgeable than Steve Irwin (Croc Hunter) is on drugs.

Went to the new Stater Brothers Deli for lunch...new trainy working there. She was pretty darn bad at making sandwiches, she even forgot to put in meat on one of them. Now I understand not having experience making a sandwich...but how about some experience being a humanbeing! I'm pretty mellow so I didn't mind much. Kevin and Richard were pretty made and vowed never to go there again. I guess 1 hour is too long to stand around for a couple of sandwiches.

Dreaming, swimming in my eyelids [19 Jun 2003|10:39pm]

2 a.m. sunday morning, I had an idea: The Olive Oil Club. Stay Tuned.

Movie of the moment: Donnie Darko
Song of the moment: "Wordless May" Venus Hum
Show of the moment: Snake Wranglers

I'm eating too much junk. Food is just too good. Next week I will loose 5lbs! Went to the doctors and got to hear the baby's heartbeat. Rosalie mentioned to the doctor that she had a little bleeding after sex. So he recommend that we don't have sex during the pregnacy..doh.

Weeks are going by way too fast. Plans of going to London is put on hold. Wish I had a job that allowed me to relocated at least for a little while. I hope my kids have a cool childhood as I did. Hard to beat growing up in Germany for 9 years, Atlanta for 2 years.

Talking to my single friends, makes me miss going dancing. Guys are so clueless. Working out and a nice car doesn't help your chances any...well it might with some girls.
